At the Drake School of Education, we are transforming every day to achieve our mission to prepare, support, and inspire our students to lead and serve in a constantly changing world. We can do so because of the generous support of alumni and donors like you.
Nearly 750 current undergraduate and graduate students are experiencing the transformational impact of the School of Education. And over the last five years, more than 99% of our alumni were employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation.
Our transformational approach is also visible in three innovative new programs.
First, in collaboration with Des Moines Public Schools and the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector, we’ve launched a Master of Science in Montessori Education program to support the district’s growing need for Montessori-certified educators. Graduates of the program will earn both a master’s degree and a certificate in Montessori education.
Second, we are collaborating with Nanyang Science and Technology College (NSTC) to deliver our Ed.D. program in Singapore beginning in the fall of 2026. This program will draw students from across Southeast Asia to earn their doctorate in education leadership.
Finally, we have added a new undergraduate degree: a Bachelor of Science in Disability & Rehabilitation Services. Students can customize their degree with emphasis areas in advocacy, counseling, Deaf culture, human resources, leadership, and youth. The new degree will also prepare students for pursuing counseling licensure.
The All In Giving Challenge is critical to each of our efforts. Your gift will empower us to transform every day and provide for the NOW that will build the better FUTURE for us all. Thank you for your support!
