College of Arts & Sciences

With 42 majors in the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and fine arts, as well as 30 minors and nine concentrations, Drake’s College of Arts and Sciences contains the greatest range of subjects. 


The College of Arts and Sciences is a community of life-long learners engaged in the creative use of knowledge, culture, and reflection to meet the challenges of the 21st century and prepares students for a productive career, active leadership, and responsible citizenship in the global and diverse community of the future. 


Students who have graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences have taken their top-notch education to change all corners of the world: our alumni are working in all 50 states, as well as internationally.

All In This Together Challenge
During All In, ALL gifts go further! For every 100 gifts, Alumni Doug Zinser, AS’96, Peggy Fisher, FA’70, and Larry Stelter, and Cindy, LA’70, and Dennis Lesher will donate $10,000, up to $70,000.

Go the extra mile for Drake! If 50 donors who have already made gifts to the University this fiscal year (7/1/19 – 6/30/2020) make an additional gift during All In, an additional $10,000 will be unlocked.

Your impact will be doubled when you make a gift to the College of Arts and Sciences during All In! Alum Susan Beckner, LA’78 will match all gifts to the College of Arts and Sciences, dollar-for-dollar, up to $3,000. You’ll be helping the College prepare students to be life-long learners who through the creative use of knowledge, culture, and reflection will meet and surmount the emerging challenges of the 21st century.
Caldbeck Challenge
All gifts made during All In campaign by current Drake students will be matched by The Caldbeck Challenge, up to $1,400! The Diane K. Caldbeck Student Philanthropy Challenge was funded through the generosity of Kelly Caldbeck, PH’01, Peter Caldbeck, JO’03, and Megan Caldbeck, JO’05 in honor of their mother, longtime Drake employee and alumna Diane Anagnos Caldbeck, ED’72. The endowment serves as an annual incentive to students at Drake as they work to inspire their peers to develop a culture of philanthropy.
