Drake’s official live mascot is one of the most beloved members of the university community. Griff II, informally known as George, took over as the second official live mascot in July of 2020, succeeding Griff I upon his retirement. Griff II has hit the ground running and has been incredibly busy in his new role, quickly building upon the solid foundation established by his predecessor! Griff II greets prospective students and their families on campus and virtually, cheers on Bulldog athletes from the sidelines, collaborates with organizations in our community to make a positive impact, performs visits as a certified therapy dog, and brightens many days with his social media adventures and commentary. He is truly “everybody’s dog,” making himself accessible, approachable, and present.
